Things happening to me while trying to read Mr. Peter Straub's books (and I have attempted to read two):
1)What in the blue blazes do you mean?
2)Is this part of the original narration? Or a dream? Or something else?
3)Why are you using so many words to say so little?
4)How is this connected to the previous and the next?
5)Wait, wait, you've lost me there. What just happened?
6)Oh for the love of God. I can't read this thing.
Exception to this are the books he wrote with Mr. Stephen King.
Sorry Mr. Straub.
:(
As per usual, the reviews at the back of the book referring to "a powerful, strong and most fascinating book" must be referring to another book... or perhaps another writer? :/
do not apologize for your review: at least, you are honest at what you have felt by reading the book! :)
ReplyDeleteI know, I just really wonder if it is just me, or it's indeed like that, because he is quite famous. I do wonder if there is someone who can read his books and make sense of them. Even in the books he wrote with St. king, there are parts I don't understand what is happening. I really honestly can't understand his writing and I don't think I lack either intelligence or reading experience...
